About me
I'm a Scottish amateur writer, streamer, hobbyist composer, and programmer. My internet presence includes prose and poetry, YouTube videos and livestreams, and the occasional mod or other programming project.
My pronouns are she/her.
About this website
This is my personal website, containing an array of information about things I'm doing or used to do, and some samples of my creative work.
At some point I'd like to expand this website, but I'm very lazy and probably won't get around to it for a while.
In the navigation bar you can find a list of various "projects", i.e. things I do when I feel like it, as well as a list of my accounts, and ways to contact me.
About my name
My name is Molly Maclachlan. It is pronounced:
/'mɒli mak'lax.lan/
In my case, Molly is not a diminutive of Mary or any other M-names like it usually is,[1] but a name in its own right. It therefore has no real meaning.
Maclachlan is the name of a Scottish clan. It means "Son of Lachlann".[2] Lachlann is a Gaelic name deriving from Lochlann,[3] which means "land of lochs", "loch" being the Scottish term for "lake". This name was used to denote people from Scandinavia, or specifically, Norway.[4]
There are many forms of the name "Maclachlan", with spelling, capitalisation and pronunciation varying greatly. My name is spelt and pronounced only as documented here.
